What to Send on WhatsApp Before Renting a Hospital Bed

A complete WhatsApp message saves you time and makes installation easier. Here is the information and the photos to send before renting a hospital bed.

What to Send on WhatsApp Before Renting a Hospital Bed

When a family member has just come home from hospital, renting a hospital bed is one of dozens of things to arrange. Many people send a short message like "want to rent a bed" and then have to answer follow-up questions one by one, at a time when energy is already thin.

This article lists what to include in your first WhatsApp message. With complete information, we can suggest a suitable model, quote the delivery charge where it applies and plan the installation more accurately. For clinical decisions, such as mattress type or lying position, check with the doctor, nurse or physiotherapist treating the patient.

Basic Details About the Patient

Every booking needs three basics: the patient's name, the delivery location and the patient's weight. A few extra details help us understand what is really needed.

Name and weight

The patient's weight matters when choosing a bed. For example, the Standard hospital bed supports up to 200kg. If you do not know the exact weight, an estimate still helps. Include the patient's name as you would like it on the booking.

How the patient moves

  • Can the patient sit up on their own, or do they need full help?
  • Can they get out of bed and walk a little?
  • Has the medical team given any instructions about particular positions?

These answers help us explain the difference between the Standard (RM225 a month to rent), the Flexi II (RM325 a month) and the Electric Auto (RM580 a month) in a way that fits your patient.

Expected length of use

You can rent for as little as one month. If you have a rough idea of how long the bed will be needed, share it. It helps if you want to compare renting with the purchase price, for example RM1,250 for the Standard.

Address and Access to the Home

The hospital bed is installed in the room on delivery. To plan that, we need to know how the bed will get to the room.

Full address

Send the full address including postcode. The address decides whether delivery is free. Delivery and installation are free in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, for example Puchong and Petaling Jaya. For Putrajaya and other states, for example Kota Kinabalu, delivery is RM100–RM500, and we quote the amount on WhatsApp before you book.

Type of home and floor level

  • Terrace, semi-detached, kampung house, flat or condominium?
  • Is the patient's room on the ground floor or upstairs?
  • For a multi-storey building: is there a lift, or only stairs?
  • Are there guards or building management rules for deliveries?

Parking

Tell us if the road to the house is narrow or if the vehicle will have to park far from the door. It helps the delivery team plan how to bring the bed in.

The Photos That Help Most

A photo explains more than a long paragraph. Photos of the room and entrance help us plan the installation.

The photo list

  1. The main entrance of the house, from outside.
  2. The route from the entrance to the patient's room, including corners and stairs.
  3. The patient's bedroom door, fully open.
  4. The room from the doorway, showing the floor space.
  5. For an electric bed: the wall and power socket near where the bed will go.

Taking useful photos

Take photos in daylight with the lights on. Stand back so the whole door or space is in frame. If you can, hold an open measuring tape next to the door so its width is clear in the photo.

One message, not ten

Gather all the details and photos, then send them together. It is easier for us to read and reply accurately, and you do not have to wait for a reply to every small question.

A complete sample message

If you are unsure how to write it, copy and adapt the example below, replacing each part with your own details.

  • Patient: Madam Lim, about 60kg.
  • Condition: just home from hospital, can sit up with help, cannot walk alone yet.
  • Address: full address with postcode.
  • Home: flat on level 5, with lift, patient's room next to the living room.
  • Duration: expected two to three months, not certain.
  • Photos: entrance, route, bedroom door and room, attached.

After you send it

We will suggest a suitable model, quote the delivery charge if your address is outside Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, and tell first-time renters the refundable deposit, which is between RM200 and RM500. Payment can be made by bank transfer, credit or debit card, FPX, or e-wallets such as TNG, Boost and GrabPay. Monthly rental includes the bed, a Hopkins mattress, delivery and installation. See all three beds on our homepage before you get in touch.
